Remarks & Notes
A portrait of the "Princess", SNCF steam locomotive 231G #558, a remarkable piece of earlier French engineering. This beautiful 4-cylinder “Pacific État” 4-6-2 steam engine was built in 1922 by the “Société Batignolles-Châtillon” in Nantes. There were a total of 289 locomotives produced and 231 G #558 is the only preserved one thanks to the commitment of the ‘Pacific Vapeur Club’.
