Railfans who were fortunate enough to witness the last years of steam on the Jitong Railway will never forget the experience, particularly if they braved the sub-freezing temperatures to capture the magic of double-headed QJ's hauling 2300-tonne trains up to the summit at Shangdian. Here is one such train on a fine winter afternoon, entering what the railfans had dubbed "Brickworks Valley" although the locals have a much more mundane name for the place, Er Di. |
