| Erie Mining's business car Taconite Trail sits outside the E&LS shop in June of 1987. From what I can find out, the car was originally built as a Solarium Observation car in 1927 for the MP/TP. It had a stint on the MILW then was sold back to Pullman and bought by Erie Mining in 1956. Erie sold it and it went thru several owners before ending up here. If/when it will be restored is anyone's guess, but I think it is at least being stored indoors now to keep it out of the weather. |
