During a trip to Colorado in June, we managed to leave a little extra time at the beginning and end of the trip to explore the BNSF-UP Joint Line between Denver and Pueblo. On our last day, we spent most of the warm June morning in Palmer Lake, and one of the trains we got was the northbound BNSF Pikes Peak Local. The local was led by GP50 3127 (built in 1985 as BN GP50 3127), GP39-3 2549 (built in 1962 as ATSF GP30 1221) and BNSF ES44AC 5798 (built in 2005). Chautauqua Mountain and Sundance Mountain provide the backdrop for the scene.
