| Notre-Dame de Paris - To express my sadness to the people of Paris and all France at the disastrous fire in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame last Monday I am posting this photo of the Eurostar set that was given a special vinyl wrap in May 2000 to promote the stage production 'Notre-Dame de Paris' based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It is seen passing through Paddock Wood station running of the DC third-rail line from Waterloo to the Channel tunnel as the 12.53 service to Paris Nord. It was to be another three years before we had part of the high-speed line built that eventually opened from St.Pancras in November 3007. As for the Eurostar set it was sent for scrap on February 17, 2017. |
