The front running gear of Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 at rest at Rock Springs, Wyoming, on the afternoon of May 5, 2019, shows an abundance of grease and oil, surely more than usual to aid in breaking in of all of the new parts installed during the rebuild. In some senses, this trip west to Ogden was the locomotive’s break-in trip!
