Five locomotives, four models, two builders, one railroad ... An eastbound Santa Fe freight is just six miles from the summit of its crossing of the Tehachapi Mountains as it pops out of one of the many tunnels on this Southern Pacific line (on which the Santa Fe has trackage rights). ATSF U36C 8756 is MUed with an SD45-2, an SD45, another U36C and an SD40-2 to get it's piggyback train out of the San Joaquin Valley and on to Arizona and beyond. (Cable, California - June 1984)
