Remarks & Notes
With the sound of dynamic brakes whining, and the smell of brake shoes burning, a heavy Union Pacific coal load negotiates down the two percent grade of the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains at Coal Creek Canyon, CO. In the background, the five mid-train units can be seen helping the heavy train down the grade. The power configuration was 2x5x1 with two of mid helper units isolated.
