Branch line freight at Conway. Conway Scenic Railroad's beefy Canadian National 0-6-0 works to assemble a demonstration branch line freight train in the yard at Conway, NH during the railroad's 2019 Railfan Weekend, under a pretty deck of cumulus clouds. On the first day of the event, the railroad ran this freight down to Conway and proceeded to perform a number of demonstrations for a group of about 20 of us who had purchased caboose tickets. These demonstrations included, log-loading on a flat, loading stone into a hopper (to be used as track ballast) and loading boxed freight into a B&M box car. The crew then performed a run-by at the station for photographers before heading north to North Conway. Later in the day, this freight would make another demonstration run, this time to Bartlett and back. The first day capped off with a free night photo session in the yard at North Conway, featuring 7470, and several vintage diesels, with strobe lighting provided by a professional photographer. Since 7470 made her return earlier this year, the new management at the Conway Scenic has featured her in a number of high-profile events, and has given every indication that they will continue to do the same in the coming years.
