It was cloudy and rainy all day on May 3, 2007, in Powder River Basin—until, of course, the very end of the day. The tiny slot of clear weather never got any closer as coal train after coal train cast a silhouette against the western sky, but at least it was a respite in the weather allowing for a couple of late day photos. South of Bill, Wyoming, a northbound BNSF coal empty crosses the fill just north of the Highway 59 underpass, heading for a mine in the basin.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
