| Locomotive Ge 4/4 III # 81 "Wallis" of the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGBahn) with a car tunnel shuttle train in Realp. This 1700 kW locomotive for 90 km/h (without cogwheel drive) was built in 1979 by SLM and BBC for the tunnel shuttle trains through the new 15,3 kilometer long Furka Base Tunnel of the Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) between Oberwald and Realp, which was openend in 1982. Sister locomotive # 82 was scrapped in 2017. |
