This summer, the RhB launched the adventure train Rhine gorge (Erlebniszug Rheinschlucht), which circulated every sunday between Chur and Ilanz and back (twice a day) and between Ilanz and Trin and back (once). Usually a Ge 4/4 I locomotive was in service, sometimes a Ge 6/6 II. The train had a baggage car for canoes and bycicles etc., two open observation cars and two second class passenger cars. On the last sunday of the season, Ge 4/4 I # 610 "Viamala" from 1953 is pulling train 2730 from Ilanz to Chur along the Vorder Rhine between Versam-Safien and Trin. In this part of the gorge, there is only the railway and the river. No road, not even a hiking path! The view is from the narrow road linking Bonaduz with Versam, high up in the rocks, about 150 meter above the valley floor.
