ALCo's In The Desert: Getting close to home, run time over the 38 mile shortline is about an hour and a half with a track speed of 25 MPH. The train comes over a short grade, no match for Apache's well maintained ALCo products. Apache Rwy doesn't run often anymore, but the ALCo's and the beautiful desert scenery make the trip worth it.
