As the greatest skyline of all stands tall in great light, Metra's two remaining F40C's sit quietly at the Western Avenue Shop in Chicago. For years, they awaited a rebuild that, at least to this day, hasn't arrived. The future for these 1974-built Milwaukee Road vets remains unclear.
