Fall colors return to Loup Creek... A pair of R.J. Corman tunnel motors are at a crawl of less than 1 MPH as they pull 10 loads of export coal out of the Pax loadout, uphill toward Mount Hope. As soon as the two Corman motors navigate the crest of this short, but intense 'S' curve grade near Pax, it'll be an easier trek over the mountain to Thurmond. This backwoods Appalachian coal operation never fails to impress photographers - especially during fall colors.
