Steam, sun and snow. Bridgton & Saco River Railroad Locomotive #7 backs away from the Sheepscot Water Tank as she heads off to the North Yard, to pin on to an all Bridgton & Saco River Mixed Train consist. This locomotive is owned by the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company & Museum, and normally resides down on the Portland waterfront, but in January of 2020, she visited the campus of the Wiscasset Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum to participate in the Grand Reunion of the 5 surviving, Maine 2-foot locomotives. Truth be told, this was not really a reunion, but a first of its kind event, as this was the first time all 5 locomotives were ever together. Although Monson Railroad 3 & 4, and Bridgton 7 & 8 did live together at Edaville Railroad in Massachusetts for a half century, this is the first time that the 4 former Edaville engines would be joined by WW&F #9. With 3 of these engines currently operable, the "Reunion" was a rare opportunity to re-create trains from 4 of Maine's historic, narrow gauge railroads. A second such event is to be staged in February of 2020, but don't go looking for tickets. Like this first event, that February event is already sold out.
