Remarks & Notes
Denver’s North Yard was Rio Grande’s main facility in Colorado after it was opened in 1949, and continues to be so after the Southern Pacific acquisition and Union Pacific merger. On April 27, 2001, power from all three railroad are gathered at the locomotive facility as a pair of EMD SW1500 switchers work the south end of the yard.
