ELS 600 (ex Milwaukee Road 96A) was reactivated after spending 8 years in storage on the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad. 9 hours of driving sure paid off to see this beautiful cab unit on a beautiful crisp winter's afternoon moving freight cars around in Michigan's beautiful Upper Penninsula. ELS 600 was photographed here on the Champion Line (formally the Channing-Republic Subdivision) moving some storage cars around in preparation for a snow plow run the following day.
