We rode the ferry across Lake Michigan between Kewaunee, Wisconsin to Elberta, Michigan on August 19, 1979. Here, we are approaching the dock at Elberta as Ann Arbor S3 #7 prepares to remove the freight cars from the ferry. To the left is the Arthur K. Atkinson ferry which was out of service at the time. In the background, Ann Arbor's road power, GP35s, are in the engine terminal.
