This just in! Honoring the State of Illinois...and the six counties that Metra serves. MP36PH-3C #402 rolls under the endangered Rock Island searchlights in Robbins as it shows off its brand new paint scheme. The unveiling of the sharp locomotive was conducted yesterday. To quote Metra, "Though our latest honorary locomotive was planned well in advance of the pandemic, it seems only fitting that Locomotive 402 is completed during such a difficult time. It’s a reminder that we’re stronger together, as a state and a community, even when we have to stay separated. We are proud to honor the state of Illinois and the six-county region we serve." As always, kudos to Metra for a job well done! I hope that everyone is staying healthy as we make way through the COVID-19 pandemic.
