USSX #1248, a vintage SW8, shoves on a cut of steel cars at US Steel's Granite City Works. #1188 has been sitting in that same spot, tied onto that same crane for at least a few years now. One has to wonder if it's in some sort of storage, or perhaps waiting for a return to service at some point. I couldn't find any information for either locomotive when it came to their past, so if anyone has any info to add, please feel free to do so.
