The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 affected most aspects of life, including on America’s railroads. Amtrak is operating shortened trains, cancelling other trains, operating reduced schedules, supplying crews with facemasks, instructing passengers to practice social distancing while onboard and equipping cars with hand sanitizer dispensers. As train 580, a San Diego-bound Pacific Surfliner, makes a brief stop in Santa Ana, Conductor Scott talks with a passenger before he boards for the southbound trip.
