Remarks & Notes
Locomotive Sir Cecil A Cochrane storms up the bank to Andrews House station with the last train of the day. Tanfield Railway have had some really bad news this week. Because of lockdown nobody has been around the site where they have been spending many hours , days, months and years restoring a locomotive called Horden. This year was going to the year that it all came together and the loco would run on the rails for the first time in sevral decades. However, thieves took it upon themselves to break into the workshops and steal all the copper and brass fittings that were ready to be fitted. Total loss was estimated at £20,000. With no end in sight to the lockdown as far as the railway is concerned, it is truly a heavy blow.
