On the dark side at French Broad River. Here's a dark-side view of Southern Railway Consolidation #154. as she runs westbound on the shore of the French Broad River, hauling a local freight through an industrial district just a few miles east of her home base in Knoxville, TN. Built in 1890, the 154 is the oldest surviving, operable, Southern Railway Locomotive. In this photo, she's performing for photographers attending a 2011 Historic Transport Preservation (HTP) Charter, hosted by John Craft.
