The local at work. Under darkening sky, a Southern Railway local freight shuttles loads to local industries in the Knoxville, TN area, with Consolidation #154 on the point. Here, she charges toward Hines Crossing, not far from the Holston River. The 154 is one of just a few Victorian-era locomotives left in the US that can still operate. She's an 1890 product of the Schenectady Locomotive Works and she "served the south" until 1953. After spending more than half a century as a park locomotive, she was donate to the Gulf & Ohio Railways in 2008 and restored to operation in 2010 for the company's Three Rivers Rambler tourist operation. On this particular day, she was operating on a photo freight charter for Historic Transport Preservation (HTP).
