The rear of a westbound BNSF unit coke train works out of Austin, Montana, while climbing Montana Rail Link’s Mullan Pass west of Helena on the morning of June 26, 2020. Above the rear DPU, another westbound in the form of a ballast train follows closely behind, only it is in the siding and will stop at the end of double track at Weed. The siding at Austin has been extended west to Weed, essentially making the main line on this part of the hill a short section of double track, and scenes like this possible.
