By the time this evening's California Zephyr (#6) got to Crescent, Colorado, there was heavy snow falling accompanied by gusty winds. The temperature yesterday was 95 degrees, and the huge snow storm today not only dropped the temp 65 degrees, it was dropping major snow in the Rocky Mountains. One good aspect of the snow is that it will certainly help get a handle on the major wildfires burning in the mountains.
