Remarks & Notes
The two oldest locomotives of the RhB in regular service, Ge 4/4 I # 603 "Badus" and # 602 "Bernina" from 1947, are pulling the heavy (about 290 ton) sand train from Samedan to the Albula tunnel II construction site in Preda, running through the Bever valley on a grade of more then 3.0 %. The train is transporting about 200 ton of sand, which was loaded in the freight terminal of Samedan. Locomotive # 602 was withdrawn from service in 2012 and transported to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne for an exhibition. Surprisingly, it returned to Grison in november 2015 because of higher demand for the Albula Tunnel II construction. It returned in service in july 2016, still with the sticker for "Albula Bernina UNESCO World Heritage".
