One Day Away. Amtrak Train 291 (P32AC-DM 700 leading) passes the Hyde Park Train Station Museum in Hyde Park, New York on December 19, 2020. Built in 1914, it served passengers until 1958. The station subsequently fell into disrepair, but in 1975 with demolition proportedly one day away, the Hudson Valley Railroad Society stepped up and leased the property from the town of Hyde Park, soon making the necessary renovations to reopen the building as a museum. The combination of Mission and Spanish Revival styles by architects Warren and Wetmore should look familiar to New York Central Railroad devotees, as it resembles a scaled down version of the station in Poughkeepsie and has elements of many of the other buildings that they designed.
