Remarks & Notes
Nearly two hours after BNSF train Q-NWHLAC6-30 stopped about six-miles east of Summit, due to chronic Positive Train Control (PTC) and Trip Optimizer programming failures, the train arrives at Cajon Pass’ Summit. This train got held by a work window the back around the California border (aka Needles) for most of a day, and then had a number of computer glitches the next day, resulting in this 11142-foot train falling 37 hours 13 minutes behind schedule. After the last delay at Lugo, however, the train is running fine and it passing through Summit at track speed – finally! BNSF ES44AC 5750 and British Columbia Railway Dash 9-44CW 4653 are up front, with BNSF ES44C4 6632 and BNSF ES44AC 6075 (one of the BNSF’s 25th Anniversary engines) on the rear, operating in Distributed Power (DPU) mode.
