East to West. SIR 446 eases around the curve as it approaches Tompkinsville Station, the first station on its eastbound (geographically south) to Tottenville. Unlike the subway, the tracks of which are referenced as north/south, SIR tracks are referenced as east/west. The direction to Tottenville is railroad east and to St. George is railroad west, despite Tottenville being geographically further west than St. George.
