Remarks & Notes
A couple brave the cold and walk along the former right of way of Reading Company's Newtown line, seen in this image captured at Southampton, PA. The station, to the left, was built in 1892, the right of way, developed way back in 1872 by the Philadelphia & Montgomery County Railroad, then later the Philadelphia, Newtown & New York Railroad Company which was eventually leased to the Reading, and finally SEPTA. Today, the line is in the process of being converted to a rails to trail path originating in Philadelphia.

Hard to believe some communities allow such rich examples of their history crumble, but thankfully, this is not the case in Southampton.
