Remarks & Notes
The Polar Bear Express cruises through the pristine winter wilderness north of Cochrane crossing the mighty Abitibi River as the snow sparkles in the early morning sun. This train is incredibly unique being one of the last true “mixed” trains in North America serving the remote communities of Moosanee and Moose Factory on James Bay not accessible by road as well as others along the way. Not seen in the photo are 6 coaches, 4 specially outfitted box cars, and an ACU to make up the day’s consist.
