Never Happened In My Time. New Jersey Transit 4519 (Erie Lackawanna Tribute) crossed Moodna Viaduct in Salisbury Mills, New York leading Train 59 on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at sunset. NJ Transit commonly operates these dual mode engines over both electrified and non-electrified territory as their cycles demand. Moodna Viaduct is part of the Graham Line, which was opened by the Erie Railroad in 1909 as a higher speed freight bypass near the Main Line. From then until the Port Jervis Line was rerouted in 1983, there was no regularly schedule passenger service. Erie Lackawanna operated this territory from September 13, 1960 until the Conrail takeover on April 1, 1976, making this tribute unit a fitting leader.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
