The beauty of Virginia isn't so apparent in winter, when it can be cold, wet and foggy. On this visit to Clifton Forge, the forecast was for freezing temperatures later in the day, but I had to get a shot of this big, blue SD40 pulling its coal train past the curving passenger station platform before I headed home to Blacksburg.
For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
