Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad’s daily passenger train has just arrived on the end of its run at Chama, New Mexico, on the afternoon of August 28, 2021. As passengers disembark, the engine crew strikes up a conversation with a carman. In a few minutes, the train will head for Chama’s wye to turn the train, and the carman will check for any defects as the cars roll by.
