Santa Fe Southern GP7 07 was built by EMD in August 1952 as Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe 2744. The Santa Fe rebuilt it as a GP7u and numbered it ATSF 2234. It was eventually sold to the Texas-New Mexico Railroad (as TNMR 2234), and it eventually transferred to the Dallas Garland & Northeastern Railroad (DGNO 701), from there, to the Santa Fe Southern, where it remains today (“today” being 2022), as their engine SFS 07, as seen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on May 17, 2013.
