This scene is at the Canyon Coal Company’s Skyline Mine flood loader high up on the Wasatch Plateau in Utah. Elevation here is over 8000’. The mine is out of sight, on the left, up a canyon about 2 or 3 miles away. It is connected to the loader by a conveyor belt. In spite of the BNSF leader, this is a Union Pacific train. The lead 3 engines here will cut off and run back around the train and become the head end power, for the outbound trip.
