Remarks & Notes
Two of BNSF's new ET44ACH locomotives lead an Engle Butte Mine to Reliant Engery (Perish), TX coal train over the Palmer Divde as it passes through Larkspur. With another two ET44ACH shoving on the rear, this was first trip for BNSF's new "heavy" locomotives climbing to the 7,200' summit of the Palmer Divide. As a result, officials in Fort Worth wanted to see if the second motor was isolated, would these new locomotives would be able to pull the hill. With just three locomotives running (0.7 hpt), the train struggle up the hill to Palmer Lake where the train finally stalled out
