More like 13,000 Horsepower!

I may be mistaken but AFAIK the max horsepower ratings (give or take a couple hundred hp) for these locomotives are - SD90MAC: 6300; SD9043AC: 4300; C4AC: 4400. This totals 15,000.

There are no more 6,000hp SD90MAC's, they all have been derated to to 4,300hp (hence) SD90/43MAC!

Thanks for the info. Since #8044 has "SD90MAC" stencilled on her side I assumed she was a 6000hp-rated loco. By contrast the 2nd unit - #8208 - is stencilled "SD9043AC". I thought that UP had several of each (a notion partly motivated by the fact that CSX has re-upped their CW44-6s to original CW60 status). I'll make the correction inm y caption.
