Does the abndonment of the towers mean there's a downturn in traffic through the yard?

I don't know if 'downturn' is the right word to describe the situation... The train comes to this yard only 3 (literally: three!) times in a week. There used to be regular traffic through this yard but during the WWII the line leading to the souther entrance to the yard had been destroyed and haven't been rebuilt since. The cargo traffic however, thanks to the industrial plants situated around the yard, was kept, operating from the western entrance (seen on the picture). The downturn of traffic could be observed from the 50's till late 70's. The current situaton is best described by the word 'agony'.
