I've been to this spot many times and never been this lucky. It's a shame how much this location has chaged, in terms of trains that is. Great shot.

To me, this photo accurately captures the pinnacle of diesel railroading in the pre-merger era. I was two days old when the photo was taken, and it represents everything I've envisioned 1980s railroading to be. Colorful Popsicle units, my favorite railroad in the foreground, and the great midwestern planes. A strange haze seems to cover the photo, no doubt due to age, that makes it seem almost dreamlike.
