That looks like one of Six Flags locomotives... Maybe they got one from Houston? Or have they had this one for a while?

That "Strange little Steamer" looks like one that would be at home on a sugar plantation in south Louisiana--maybe after replacing the headlight and cowcatcher with something less extreme. The smokestack also looks ... embellished, but given what such a locomotive might have been burning, I won't simply assume what would have been original. I remember in the early 1970s loving W. E. Butler's collection (including a small working steam locomotive and a wooden cupola caboose) at Ponchatoula, LA. Those interested could look for a copy of his book, Down Among the Sugar Cane: The Story of Louisiana Sugar Plantation and Their Railroads.
