GN 400 is going to Wisconsin & Southern's Horicon, WI paint shop for a new paint job. Why? Looks good to me. Or, atleast good enough not to need a new paint job.

Nice shot, Ralph. It doesn't look like it needs new paint. I guess it doesn't run if it needs to be pushed by a switcher. Why is the switcher painted for the Andersen Window Co.?

MNTX SW1 3110 was owned and donated to the Minnesota Transportation Museum by the Anderson Windows Corporation Bayport, MN in 2000. The 3110 was originally Wabash 110 and later N&W 3110. GN 400 is owned by the Great Northern Railway Historical Society and keep at MTM's Jackson St. Roundhouse. GN 400 is very well maintained, and has areas of peeling paint whch cannot be seen very well in this photo. The area on the cab roof on the conductor side shows one area where the paint is peeling badly.

Due to delays in resolving liability insurance issues for the transporatation of GN 400 to WSOR's Horicon, WI paint shop, GN 400 lost its spot in the paint queue. GN 400 is now scheduled to be shipped for painting in September 2006.
