If this is for spare parts, is it wise storing it outdoors?

It would be used if the entire car gave out. Say the coupler broke on one of the cars w/ the fins, then they would seperate the trainset (big crane), pull out the broken car, and then put one of the spares in place while the other one is fixed. I should have clairfied, when I said spare parts, I ment spare cars. But recently, a coach car broke down and there has been a set running around w/ 1 less coach than usual. These 3 cars in this picture are critical to the train running.
