Quite sad that the round RR crossing sign and crossbuck have almost no effect on drivers anymore.

What do the "74" and "93" on the bottom center of those cars represent?

The "74" and "93" centered on the bottom of the ore care are quad numbers. A quad is four cars permanently coupled with an orange stripe painted on the end posts of each quad set to identify the coupler end. The orange stripe can be seen between quad "74" and "94". The ore cars in this photo are "mini" quads with 9-3/4 inch side extensions. Quads helped reduce air leaks through hose couplings during the winter.
