This is a former smooth-side Pullman-Standard car to which stainless steel corrugations have been added. Notice the silver paint on the ends, roof and window panel, which would be stainless had the car been built as a stainless steel sheathed car. It seems that BNSF is following the Santa Fe business train standard., that of a stainless steel consist.
