Preserved double track main line? Inquiring minds want to know.

To Mitch and the other enquiring minds, There are of course thousands of miles of double track main lines in the UK, but they are part of the national network. There are many heritage (preserved/tourist) lines also, these tend to be single track short lines and are mostly very nice, BUT, the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire is the only heritage line with a real double track main line. Details of the railway can be found here http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/ . So if any of our Trans-Atlantic cousins are visiting England put this line high on your list of thing to see. Alan
