One encouraging thing to note: The railroad just put a new yield sign up right under the exempt sign. Will trains once again roam the Sauk Branch? Only time will tell.

Adam; Are you sure it was the railroad that did that? In South Carolina, the state came through and put stop signs at a couple of crossings that have not seen a train since March. Of 2001. Joe

I see the "Exempt" sign on alot of the Wisconsin Southerns grade crossings. They have them on the Hwy 14 crossing in Janesville by my office and there are several trains thru there each day.
