If I ever get to VA someday I'll definately have to go there!! Are there any benches to sit on?! How many trains a day would you say or which days are best? Is there ever a north and south at the same time?!

Ashland is a busy spot on the railroad. I can't say for sure how many trains a day go through there.... But I would estimate between 20-30. That is a low ball figure. There are at least 12 Amtrak trains a day. Just behind this train is the Ashland Station. Park benches and picnic tables. From time to time there are trains passing each other, both in opposite and the same direction. Contact me by email if you have any specific questions.
